Nagara-Style Temple Architecture
The temple follows the Nagara architectural tradition and uses carved stone in its main structure. The Ram Lalla murti was made by sculptor Arun Yogiraj from dark stone. Parts of the wider complex continue to develop, so visitor routes can change.

The 500-Year Story
In Hindu tradition, Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Rama, one of the Sapta Puri (seven sacred cities), and the capital described in the Ramayana. The site known as Ram Janmabhoomi was the subject of a long religious and legal dispute involving a mosque built in the Mughal period and the placement of Ram Lalla idols inside the structure in 1949.
On November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court of India delivered a unanimous judgment directing that the disputed land be used for a Ram temple and that alternative land be provided for a mosque. Bhoomi Pujan took place on August 5, 2020, and the Prana Pratishtha of Ram Lalla was held on January 22, 2024.
