The Natural Cave Shrine in the Trikuta Hills
In pilgrimage tradition, the goddess Vaishnavi chose the Trikuta Hills as her abode and is worshipped through the three Pindis associated with Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswati. Stories involving the Pandavas and Bhairavnath form part of the shrine's devotional tradition. Many pilgrims also include Bhairon Temple after Bhawan darshan.
Garbh Joon is the narrow cave at Adhkuwari, not the main Bhawan sanctum. Modern yatra management changed in 1986 when the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board was constituted. The Board manages registration, route facilities, accommodation and many transport services. The Katra rail link opened in 2014.
